Tourism Ministry says attention has been given to establish a Crocodile Park in Matara, as a way to increase conservation and attract tourists.
Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga said this responding to a question posed by SJB MP Buddika Pathirana in Parliament yesterday.
“Due to the human-crocodile conflict in Matara district, there was a plan to establish a Crocodile Park near Kirala Kele. The work began, but it was stopped suddenly.” MP Buddika Pathirana questioned.
Responding to the question tourism minister Prasanna Ranatunga said that Goverment has all ready paid attention to the matter.
He said that Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Irrigation will work on the project together. (NewsWire)
