The Council of Sri Lankan Muslim Organisations (COSMOS UK) has extended its congratulations to Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his election as the 9th Executive President of Sri Lanka.
Issuing a statement, COSMOS UK said President Dissanayake’s historic victory heralds a new chapter in the country’s history and represents people’s desire for change, a credible political culture, good governance and social justice.
COSMOS UK further said it believes that, at this challenging time, Sri Lanka requires a transformative leader who can unite the nation, rebuild trust, and pave the way towards a more inclusive and prosperous future. “The election of President Dissanayake is therefore seen as a timely and promising development,” it said.
