The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning for the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Uva provinces effective until 11.00 pm today.
Accordingly, thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Uva provinces.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity. (Newswire)
