Afternoon showers are expected in some provinces today, with fairly heavy showers above 50 mm expected in some places, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Uva provinces and in the Nuwara-Eliya district after 2.00 pm.
