Another 955 suspects have been apprehended in the islandwide special operation ‘Yukthiya’ carried out by the Police Special Task Force (STF) until 12.30 am today (Jan 08).
According to the Ministry of Public Security, vehicles and property valued at Rs. 106 million belonging to three suspected narcotics dealers have also been seized during the operation.
The Ministry further said five vehicles worth Rs. 61 million, and assets and lands worth Rs. 45 million belonging to the suspected narcotics dealers were seized during the special operation.
The estimated values of the seized vehicles and properties are as follows;
- Vehicles:
Toyota Land Cruiser Prado – Rs. 33 million
Toyota KDH Van – Rs. 13 million
Toyota CHR Car – Rs. 7.6 million
Toyota Aqua Car – Rs. 6.4 million
Bajaj Three-wheeler – Rs. 1 million
- Properties;
7.5 perches land in Thalagala – Rs. 1.5 million
5 perches land in malabe – Rs. 4.5 million
A two-storey house on a 12.5 perch land at Rajawatte Terrace in Kotugoda, Ja Ela – Rs. 24 million
A plot of land Niwandana south in Ja Ela (Land area yet to be estimated) – Rs. 15 million. (NewsWire)
