A video titled “most honest salesman in Sri Lanka”, which has been shared by famous World Traveler and vlogger Harald Baldr is going viral across social media platforms, which features a small-scale Sri Lankan entrepreneur.
In the video, Harald walks into a shop which he later says is situated closer to Kandy City Center Mall, to enquire about prices of 3 pairs of socks. Harald seems shook with the prices quoted by the salesman at once, where he is told that a pair will cost him Rs. 190 ($ 1) only.
And with more curiosity, Harald checks out prices of backpacks available for sale and he seems astonished to find that the prices are even below half of what it will cost him in his own country or anywhere else in the world.
The salesman doesn’t seem to be trying to exploit the tourist and offers the goods for the least price. Since Sri Lanka is sometimes accused of ripping off foreigners with exorbitant prices, this certainly changes such perspectives and will encourage tourists to buy from local entrepreneurs.
