Ministry of Power says there are possibilities of power cuts of at least one hour between 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm in several parts of the island for few days.
According to the Minisi, the power cuts will last until the three power plants generating 900 MW of electricity at Norochcholai power plant become fully functional.
“Next 3 to 4 days, some areas in Sri Lanka will experience about 1 hour power cuts to balance the load” CEB official told NewsWire.
CEB Engineers yesterday temporarily called off the ongoing ‘work to rule’ protest, considering the inconvenience faced by the general public.
