Four passengers have been arrested with gold worth Rs. 172 million at the Katunayake Airport today.
Sri Lanka Customs said initially, three passengers were arrested with 7.5 kg of gold worth Rs.160 million.
They had arrived at the Katunayake Airport from Oman early this morning.
The suspects had attempted to conceal the gold plates within their luggage and were arrested by Customs Officials.
Meanwhile, another passenger who had arrived on the same flight had been arrested with one kg of gold.
Sri Lanka Customs said that the suspect had concealed the gold worth Rs. 12 million in his rectum.
