The stretch of road between the Wellampitiya Junction to Kotikawatta Junction on the Colombo – Avissawella Road will be temporarily closed over the weekend.
The Police said the stretch of road will be closed from 10.00 pm on Saturday (01) to 05.00 pm on Sunday (02).
However, area residents will be provided limited time to use the road for their requirements.
The temporary road closure has been announced due to urgent maintenance work on the water pipelines from Kaduwela to Orugodawatte.
The Police have announced the following alternate routes for those using the road during this period.
Vehicles travelling towards Colombo can travel through Wellampitiya Junction to Gothatuwa Town via Kollonawa and from there to Kotikawatta Junction and enter the Avissawella Road.
Vehicles arriving from Avissawella have been advised to reach Gothatuwa Town via the Kotikawatta Junction and travel along Kollonnawa to the Wellampitiya Junction. (NewsWire)
