The deadline for submitting applications for welfare benefits has been extended to 15th October 2022, the State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe announced.
In a Twitter message, he said there is no intention for the government to cut down on social welfare benefits.
“There is no risk of any citizen currently receiving benefits losing benefits under this programme,” he said.
State Minister Semasinghe further said the process will only simplify identifying and verifying the methods of benefits and selecting who should receive further assistance.
He added that intended recipients should register at their respective divisional secretariat.
The State Minister of Finance also said that more information in this regard is available via the hotlines 011-2151481 or 1919. (NewsWire)
