Telecommunication companies have announced an increase in service charges with effect from today, 05 October.
Several telecommunication companies have issued notices stating that the increase is due to the implementation of the Social Security Contribution Levy.
The tax is imposed at the rate of 2.5 percent on importers, manufacturers, service providers, wholesalers, and retailers with an annual turnover of more than Rs. 120 million.
Telecommunication companies further said details of the new mobile charges can be obtained via their official websites. (NewsWire)
