The Sri Lankan delegation attending the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank has met with the First Deputy Managing Director of the IMF Gita Gopinath.
The Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) 2022 commenced in Washington D.C yesterday (10).
State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, and Secretary to the Treasury Mahinda Siriwardana are representing Sri Lanka at the IMF/WB Annual Meetings.
In a Twitter message, the First Deputy Managing Director of the IMF Gita Gopinath said she had an excellent discussion with Sri Lanka’s State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe, and Central Bank Governor Nandalal Weerasinghe.
She further said the discussion focused on the extreme challenges Sri Lanka faces and the concrete steps being taken to tackle them. (NewsWire)
