A 20-year-old youth has been arrested on charges of having aided the suspects involved in the double murder that was reported in Moratuwa on 26 June 2022.
The Police said the youth was arrested in the Egoda Uyana area in Moratuwa last evening and was handed over to the Mount Lavinia Police.
They said the youth had purchased two mobile SIMs using his National Identity Card for the suspects involved in the murders.
Further interrogations led the Police to find two mobile phones that had been used by the suspects wanted for the murders.
The youth, who is a resident of the Egoda Uyana area, will be produced before the Moratuwa Magistrate’s Court today. (NewsWire)
