Western Province Provincial Director of Education Srilal Nonis says further action is not required pertaining to the conduct of a school teacher during an event in a school in Negombo which had made rounds on social media.
Issuing a circular, Srilal Nonis said a report has been submitted following investigations conducted into the incident by the Director of the Negombo Zonal Education Office.
He said it has been found that the female teacher had danced with a group of school children during a Children’s Day event held at the school premises as part of a teacher-student activity.
Thereby, action is not required to be taken in this regard, Western Province Provincial Director of Education Srilal Nonis added.
The incident, which occurred at a school in Kadirana drew criticism from some segments of the population and state establishment, prompting an investigation by education authorities. (NewsWire)
