A serious shortage of several essential medicines and medical equipment has been reported in state hospitals, the All Ceylon Private Pharmacy Owners’ Association revealed.
Its Treasurer Manjula Jayawardena said that there is a shortage of several medical items, including bandages and cottonwool.
Jayawardena pointed out that as a result, there was a significant increase in purchasing of medical items from private-owned pharmacies.
Manjula Jayawardena also revealed there was a serious shortage of anesthetics at state hospitals at present. (NewsWire)
