Nearly Rs. 50 million worth narcotics seized at Central Mail Exchange

A large haul of methamphetamine pills has been intercepted at the Central Mail Exchange by Sri Lanka Customs.

According to Ada Derana, Customs spokesperson and Director of Customs Sudattha Silva said that the stock has been valued at over Rs. 49 million.

He further said that the pills were found in a parcel that had been sent from Germany to a resident of Angoda. 

Sudattha Silva revealed that a total of 4,956 methamphetamine pills weighing up to 2kg were seized by Customs officials.

The contraband has been handed over to officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) for further investigations. (NewsWire)
