The statue of D.A. Rajapaksa in Tangalle which was pulled down by a group of anti-government protesters in May has been restored.
D.A. Rajapaksa is the father of former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, and former ministers Chamal Rajapaksa and Basil Rajapaksa.
The D.A. Rajapaksa statue was broken up by the public who were angered over the attack on peaceful protesters by supporters of Mahinda Rajapaksa in Colombo on 09th May.
However, the statue was restored and placed back on display at its original location in Tangalle on Sunday (06) in honour of D.A. Rajapaksa’s 55th death anniversary.
In a statement on social media, MP Namal Rajapaksa shared images of the statue confirming its restoration. (NewsWire)
