Sri Lanka’s Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara met with the Saudi business owners and the National Committee for the Human Resources Companies, during his visit to Saudi Arabia.
According to Saudi media, during the meeting in Riyadh, Minister Nanayakkara stated that Sri Lanka has taken several measures to attract export revenues and foreign transfers.
The minister has further stated that Saudi Arabia is the preferred destination for Sri Lankan workers.
Pointing out that about 180,000 Sri Lankans are employed in the Kingdom, Minister Nanayakkara said their transfers represent 20% of the foreign transfers to Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
