Former Finance Minister and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organizer Basil Rajapaksa is set to arrive in Sri Lanka on Sunday (20).
Confirming his return, SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said that the former minister will return to the country to engage in several party-related works, including its restructuring.
According to Hiru News, sources have revealed that Basil Rajapaksa has left the US and will arrive in Sri Lanka on Sunday morning.
Basil Rajapaksa resigned from his ministerial portfolio and Parliament seat amidst the public unrest that occurred in Sri Lanka from May to July this year. Thereafter, he left for the US in September. (NewsWire)
