The national carrier, SriLankan Airlines is currently facing an exodus of airline pilots, SriLankan Airlines CEO Richard Nuttall said yesterday.
Speaking to the media, he said that the issue was a major concern for the airline at present.
“As you know, we have restrictions on the recruitment of pilots. At the moment we see an exodus of airline pilots, due to several reasons, maybe also because we are a state enterprise,” Richard Nuttall said.
Stating that several global airlines are looking for pilots, he said the pilots leaving the state airline are those with eligible experience.
The SriLankan Airlines CEO said there is a significant increase in the number of pilots leaving the airline at present.
“The board has started discussions on the issue and we have discussed the matter with the relevant ministry as well. We are looking at taking the necessary measures to address this issue,” he added. (NewsWire)
