Eight (08) youths have been arrested with narcotics following a raid conducted on a party organized via Facebook in Weligama.
The Police stated that the raid was conducted last morning along the Weligama coastal area based on a tip-off. The group was found to be in possession of cannabis and capsules of drugs.
The arrested youths are aged between 20 and 30 years and are residents of Weligama, Ranala, Tissamaharamaya, Kananke, Thelijjawila, Wangchawela, and Beliatta.
The Police stated that the suspects had been released on bail after being produced before the Weligama Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
The Weligama Police is conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
