Minister of Sports Roshan Ranasinghe has appointed a committee to investigate incidents involving the Sri Lankan cricket team reported during the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.
The investigative committee, which has been appointed under Sri Lanka’s Sports Act, will be headed by retired Supreme Court Judge Kusala Sarojini Weerawardena.
Former Ministry Secretary Kingsley Fernando, Retired DIG Sudath Nagahamulla, Retired Rear Admiral Ananda Peiris, former cricketer Nalin de Alwis, and Lawyer Shalini Roshana Fernando are the remaining five members of the committee.
The committee is tasked with investigating the participation and other incidents involving the national cricket team during the ICC T20 World Cup that took place between 16th October to 13th November 2022 in Australia. (NewsWire)
