The National Sports Act has been amended with the inclusion of prohibitions pertaining to dual citizenship and pertaining to the age limit.
As per the amended Sports Act, dual citizens have been prohibited from contesting for any post in a sports body.
Those employed in state or ministerial posts are also prohibited from contesting for any post in a sports body.
Under the amended Sports Act, the maximum age limit to hold a position is 70 and those currently aged 70 holding posts will be allowed to complete their tenure.
Elected members are eligible for two terms, consisting of 04 years per term, but those who have completed two terms have been prohibited from recontesting.
