China has donated Rs.5 billion worth of school uniform material for Sri Lankan students, the Chinese Embassy in Colombo said on Monday (19).
In a Twitter message, the Chinese Embassy said that the school uniform material gifted by China will meet 70% of Sri Lanka’s uniform requirements in 2023.
The 1st batch consisting of 3 million meters of finished material in 38,000 boxes in 20 containers has left China for Sri Lanka, it said.
The Chinese Embassy further said that 1st batch of China’s aid of school uniform material for Sri Lanka consists of the following;
- Shirt/Frock- White, 2,374,427.5 meters
- Trouser-White, 350,031.5 meters
- Trouser-Blue, 150,003.5 meters
- Robe-Orange, 138,134 meters (NewsWire)
