The Committee on High Posts has approved the appointments of four Ambassadors and two Permanent Representatives, the Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake said.
Issuing a statement, Dasanayake said the appointments were approved by the Committee on High Posts on Tuesday (13).
The Committee met under the Chairmanship of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, with the participation of MPs John Seneviratne, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Thalatha Athukorala, Vijitha Herath, Dharmalingam Siddarthan, and Udaya Gammanpila.
Accordingly, approval was given for the following appointment;
Permanent Representatives:
- Permeant Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNSESCO) in Paris, France – Ms. Niroshani Manisha Dias Abeywickrama Gunasekara
- Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland – Ms. Himalee Subhashini De Silva Arunatilaka.
Ambassadors:
- Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the French Republic – Ms. Niroshani Manisha Dias Abeywickrama Gunasekara.
- Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Federal Republic of Germany – Ms. Lanka Varuni Muthukumarana
- Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan – Ms. J. A. D. S Priyangika Wijegunasekara
- Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam – Mr. Sajeewa Umayanga Mendis (NewsWire)
