Sri Lanka recorded a total of 719, 978 tourist arrivals in 2022, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) reported.
The SLTDA said that it was a significant increase in comparison to the 194,495 tourist arrivals recorded in 2021.
The highest number of arrivals for 2022 was reported in March with 106,500 tourist arrivals.
However, a total of 91,961 tourist arrivals were reported in December 2022, the SLTDA said.
In December, Russia, India, and the United Kingdom were the top three source markets with 19,963, 17,350, and 7,879 tourist arrivals, respectively.
Australia, Germany, the United States, Maldives, France, Canada, and Israel round off the top 10 source markets for December 2022.
