The Police have sought public assistance to find a 15-year-old girl reported missing from Theldeniya.
The Police stated that the girl is a resident of Kengalla, Ambakotte and has been reported missing since 13th October 2022.
A complaint has been filed with the Theldeniya Police after the child had not returned from school on the said date.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the girl had informed she was going to school with her friend but had instead travelled from Kandy to Colombo via train.
An individual who had felt suspicious about the two girls had enquired about their whereabouts and plans and had taken custody of them, after which he had informed their parents of their whereabouts.
As the parents had requested the youth to keep the girls in his custody until their arrival, the trio had arrived at the Galle Face Green, waiting for the arrival of the parents.
During this time, the 15-year-old girl had gone missing, while her friend had remained with the youth and was handed over to her parents.
As no information has been uncovered on the child as yet, the Police have sought public assistance to find her.
