A 50-year-old father of two has been shot dead in the Kempane, Kalugalahena area in the Panamura Police Division this morning.
The Police stated that the man who was on a motorcycle was shot dead while returning after dropping his two children at school.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the victim had been shot using a locally manufactured firearm.
The magisterial inquiry was conducted by the Embilipitiya Magistrate, while the postmortem will be conducted by the Judicial Medical Officer at the Tangalle Hospital.
The cause for the murder is yet to be ascertained, while the Panamura Police is conducting further investigations into the incident. (NewsWire)
