A total of 2,142 dengue patients have been reported within the first week of 2023 in Sri Lanka, the National Dengue Control Unit reported.
The Unit stated that the dengue patients had been reported from the 2nd to the 7th of January 2023.
The highest number of dengue patients reported during that period was from the Gampaha district with 440 dengue cases.
A total of 433 dengue patients from Colombo, 273 from Puttalam, 147 from Kalmunai, and 128 from Jaffna were also reported during this period.
The National Dengue Control Unit further stated that over 100 dengue patients each were also reported in the Kalutara and Kandy districts during this period. (NewsWire)
