A 32-year-old individual who was injured after being shot by two unknown gunmen in the Kalu Palama area in Peliyagoda early this morning has succumbed to injuries.
According to the Police, the gunmen who had arrived on a motorcycle had shot the victim while he was at his residence, and fled the area following the shooting.
The victim has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital following the incident but died while receiving treatment.
The Police said the victim had been released from prison on bail a few weeks ago, adding that several murder cases filed against him are currently being heard in courts.
The Peliyagoda Police has launched investigations to apprehend the suspect involved in the shooting. (NewsWire)
