The Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court has sentenced to death an individual over a murder reported in January 2004.
The Police stated that the suspects had shot dead an individual in the Wellabada area in Ahungalla on 23rd January 2004.
The verdict in the case, which was taken up for hearing at the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court, was issued yesterday (19).
The Police stated that one accused had passed away on 29th November 2021, while the verdict was issued to the other remaining suspect.
Thereby, issuing its verdict, the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court sentenced to death the other suspect. (NewsWire)
