A 33-year-old man has died following an accident in the 57 km post area on the Southern Expressway early this morning (26).
The Police stated that the driver of a car travelling from Pinnaduwa to Kottawa had stopped the vehicle by the side of the road and had been changing the back tire when the accident occurred.
Another vehicle travelling in the same direction is reported to have collided with the car injuring the individual who had stepped out of his vehicle.
The injured individual, who is a resident of Kokmaduwa, Weligama, had died after being admitted to the Nagoda Hospital in Kalutara.
The driver of the other vehicle has been arrested over the accident, while the Highway Police is conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
