- The Ceylon Electricity Board has requested permission to impose power cuts of 2 hours & 20 minutes today & on 04, 05 & 06 February.
- PUCSL has informed in writing to CEB on 28/1/2023, not to impose any power cuts until 16th of February to facilitate students sitting for AL examination
- Earlier today, the Supreme Court had rejected the request for an interim order by Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka preventing the Ceylon Electricity Board from imposing any power cuts during the G.C.E (A/L) exams.
- CEB has also informed the court that it would withdraw the assurance it made to suspend imposing power cuts until the petition by HRCSL is taken up for consideration, and concluded. (NewsWire)
