The couple wanted for the murder of the businessman who owned a garment chain, were arrested by the Kandana Police today (5).
The suspect husband was arrested opposite a popular textile store in Kadawatha based on a tip-off and his wife also was later arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division.
The arrested husband and wife are residents of Narahenpita and are aged 27 and 23 years old respectively, the police said.
The deceased businessman went missing on the 30th of January and his dead body was found on 2nd February by the Thalangama police floating in the swimming pool of his luxury house in Pelawatta.
After allegedly committing the murder, the suspects had taken away the luxury car belonging to the businessman along with his mobile phone and wallet.
The suspect couple is to be handed over to the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) for further questioning and the CCD are conducting further investigations ( NewsWire)
