The Department of Meteorology has predicted fairly heavy rains for 08 districts of Sri Lanka.
The department said a slight enhancement of the rainy condition is expected in the Eastern parts of the country by today (06) and tomorrow (07).
Showers are expected in the Eastern, Uva, and North Central Provinces, and in the Hambantota, Matale, and Mullaitivu districts.
Showers or thundershowers are expected at several places elsewhere in the afternoon or night.
Fairly heavy showers of above 75mm are likely at some places in the Eastern Province, and in the Galle, Matara, Ratnapura, Kalutara, Matale and Polonnaruwa districts.
