Over 4300 people are reported to have died in both Turkey and Syria due to the earthquake, while thousands more are reportedly injured, with some trapped under the rubble of collapsed buildings.
The Sri Lanka Embassy in Turkey has announced emergency hotlines 00903124271032 and 00905344569498 to inquire about or provide information on Sri Lankans living in Turkey.
Sri Lankan Ambassador in Ankara Hasanthi Dissanayake revealed that 15 Sri Lankans who were in the core area of the earthquake in Turkey are confirmed safe.
