Sri Lankan YouTube channel, ‘Hari TV’ has been awarded the Sumathi Award for Digital Social Media under the ‘current affairs’ category during the 27th Sumathi Awards ceremony.
Hari TV won the award for its documentary, ‘the effect of the Covid pandemic on the fishing and agriculture community’ which showcased the plight of Sri Lankan citizens from the North and South during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Directed by Lahiru Mudalige, the documentary saw contributions from experts from various fields, including Dr. Ranga Kalansooriya,Omar Rajaratnam, Eranda Wanigasekara, Jagath Liyanarachchi, Viranjana Herath, Neranjani Shamugaraja, Nirosh Maithri, Monorama Weerasinghe, and Dinali Jayasinghe.
The documentary was globally broadcasted by via the YouTube channel, ‘Hari TV’.
