Postal Voting for the Local Government Election postponed indefinitely, National Election Commission announced.
The Chairman of the National Election Commission had earlier announced that it will not be possible to distribute postal vote ballot papers for the Local Government polls, from tomorrow (15).
Nimal G. Punchihewa made the announcement by informing the General Secretaries of all political parties in this regard.
The Election Commission Chairman revealed that this was due to the Government Printers refusing to print ballot papers until due payments are made.
Sri Lanka is set to hold the local government elections on 09th March 2023, while all preparations are underway in this regard. (NewsWire)
