The Police have sought public assistance to arrest a suspect wanted over the theft of foreign currencies from the guests of a hotel in the Unawatuna area in Habaraduwa.
The Police stated that three suspects, including the owner of the hotel, had been arrested over the incident reported on 1st January 2023.
The suspects had stolen 16,100 US Dollars, 195,000 Russian rubles, and 200 Euros from a Russian woman and two other individuals who had resided at the hotel.
The Police stated that investigations have found the involvement of another 40-year-old individual from the Nakiyadeniya area.
The Unawatuna Police have launched investigations to apprehend the suspect and have sought the assistance of the public for this purpose.
