The Fort Magistrate has issued an order preventing several Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MPs from entering several places in Colombo today.
According to the Police, as per the court order, the SJB is prohibited from holding a protest while inconveniencing pedestrians or vehicular traffic.
The SJB is also prohibited from entering the President’s office, the President’s House, the Finance Ministry or the Galle Face area during the protest.
However, earlier today, the Colombo Chief Magistrate rejected a request made by the Police to issue an order preventing an SJB-led protest from entering several roads within the Cinnamon Gardens Police jurisdiction.
The opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) party has organized a protest in Colombo today to denounce the government’s alleged attempts to delay the Local Government elections. (NewsWire)
