Sri Lanka has averted the worst pertaining to its economic crisis through painful, unpopular, and non-populist decisions, Foreign Minister Ali Sabry stated.
In a Twitter message, the minister stated that the foundation towards building a resilient and sustainable economy can be established if the current reforms are not sabotaged in any way.
His remarks come in response to the world inflation dashboard shared by economics expert Steve H. Hanke from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
According to Hanke’s inflation dashboard, released on 16th February 2023, Sri Lanka is ranked 13th.
Sri Lanka was initially among the top few countries with high inflations, according to Hanke’s predictions, but has seen a significant drop in the rankings. (NewsWire)
