“Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya” will be conducted for the 24th consecutive year in line with the 72nd Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
This cycle race is mainly sponsored by Nippon Paint and co-sponsored by the Abans Group of Companies, Maliban Privet Limited and Sri Lanka Telecom and People’s Insurance will be the Insurance partner.
The objective of the race is to offer an opportunity to the cycling fraternity to take part in a competitive event and to promote the sport in Sri Lanka. This race is ranked at the National level and conducted under the auspices of the Cycling Federation of Sri Lanka and to international standards.
Over one hundred and eighty male and over forty-five female Sri Lankan ranking /other riders registered with the CFSL and also foreign riders are expected to compete in this race.
Men’s Race (2rd March 2023 to 4th March 2023)
- 1st Day – Colombo to Kandy
- 2nd Day – Pallekele to Polonnaruwa
- 3rd Day – Polonnaruwa to Anuradapura

In keeping with the tradition of “Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya”, for the year 2023 Race too, the organizers plan to give away handsome cash awards for Individual and Group winners amounting to more than Rupees 2.5 Million.

The final awards ceremony will be held at Public Stadium Anuradhapura at 1800 Hrs on 4th March 2023 where the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana will grace the occasion with the sponsors and other distinguished guests.
