Saudi Arabia is one of the richest countries in the world that can attract the attention of the people of the world in many ways. Saudi Arabia has no shortage of impressive skyscrapers that showcase artistic features. Neom city project is one of the most innovative projects in the world which was launched by Saudi Arabia last October. The Neom city, which is being built in Tabuk province, will be a 170-kilometer-long city completely carbon-free. The Saudi government proudly announced that the city will accommodate more than 9 million people and provide employment opportunities to 460,000 workers.
Following this revolutionary project, the government of Saudi Arabia has launched a huge project that will make the world look back. And that is the “Mukaab” city project. It means cube in Arabic, it is 400 meters high, 400 meters wide and 400 meters long. It will be the largest indoor city in the world and will have its own internal transport system. Saudi Arabia plans to build the world’s largest modern city in Riyadh as a part of the Saudi Vision 2030 plan.
A video preview of the project was released last Thursday by the Kingdom’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman.
This state of the art city is being built at a cost of 48 billion USD. It is planned to create a building 20 times bigger than the Empire State building using holographic technology.
The city project is being managed by the Murabba Development Company, headed by prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The 250 lakh square kilometer modern development will include 104,000 accommodation units, 9,000 ultra-luxury hotels, 980,000 square kilometers of free green space, 14 lakh square kilometers of office space, 18 lakh square kilometers of other facilities, and 620,000 square kilometers of sports space. The project is expected to be fully completed by 2030.
Mukaab is being built as a city that includes green areas, walking and cycling paths that improve quality of life by promoting healthy, active lifestyles and social activities. It houses a unique museum, a technology and design university, a multipurpose immersive theater and more than 80 entertainment and cultural venues.
The design of the project is based on the modern Najdi architectural style while being a major commercial center with all the technological facilities and entertainment facilities to attract tourists and reflecting the cultural values.
Mukaab is emerging as a clean city with no carbon emissions, mainly without the use of oil
The launch of Mukaab is a part of PIF’s (The public investment fund) strategy to unlock opportunities in promising sectors, develop the private sector and increase local content, encourage real estate and local infrastructure project development, and diversify revenue streams for the Saudi economy. By 2030 it is expected to add 180 billion Riyals to non-oil GDP and create 334,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Therefore, Saudi Arabia, which is heavily dependent on oil export economy, is making plans to become a fully developed tourism country by 2030. It is noteworthy that these projects are being set up on a par with western countries in terms of vision and technology.
It is noteworthy that the prince of the country had posted that the Mukaab project will be the heart of Saudi Arabia.
