The Health Ministry has been instructed to formulate the required measures to establish specialized hospitals in the Jaffna, Hambantota, Badulla, and Anuradhapura Districts.
According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), the Health Ministry Secretary has been issued the instructions by the Secretary to the President, E.M. S.B. Ekanayake on the directives of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
As per the directive, specialized hospitals are to be established in the Jaffna, Hambantota, Badulla, and Anuradhapura Districts to treat cancer patients.
Directives have also been issued for the establishment of a specialized modern Children’s hospital in a suitable location.
Meanwhile, the President has also issued directives to appoint a committee to study the possibility of establishing a Modern Laboratory for Medical Research.
According to the PMD, the committee is tasked with conducting the study and submitting their report within two months. (NewsWire)
