Minister of Education, Susil Premajayantha, informed Parliament yesterday that the release of results for the GCE Advanced level exam 2022 will be postponed, and the GCE Advanced level examination 2023 will need to be rescheduled if the ongoing trade union action by teachers responsible for marking answer papers persists.
According to the minister, this situation will occur if those involved in the trade union action do not exhibit flexibility. The teachers who grade the advanced level answer papers have requested an increase in their allowance, which the cabinet recently approved. However, the teachers have expressed dissatisfaction with the increase.
The minister emphasized that these teachers should consider the current economic before putting forward unreasonable demands. (NewsWire)
