For the first time in Sri Lanka’s history, a team has been appointed to investigate air accidents within the country’s airspace.

Seven Air Accident Investigators were appointed by the Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva, and they were presented with letters of appointment during a ceremony held yesterday.

These investigators will be responsible for identifying the precise details of air accidents, investigating the root cause of such incidents, and implementing necessary measures to avoid any future tragedies in Sri Lanka’s airspace.

This initiative marks a significant step towards ensuring the safety of Sri Lankan aviation services, Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said. (NewsWire)
