During a special discussion with representatives from various airline agencies operating in Sri Lanka, Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Aviation, Nimal Siripala de Silva, announced that these agencies have reduced the prices of air tickets by 20 percent in proportion to the decrease in the value of the US Dollar.
The Minister also revealed that there are plans to further reduce air ticket prices in the future.
During the discussions, it was mentioned that the current economic crisis in Sri Lanka is gradually decreasing, and this is leading to a more favorable environment for an increase in the number of tourists visiting the country. In fact, it was announced that seven new passenger airlines are scheduled to call at the island in the near future. (NewsWire)
