According to a recent announcement by the Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Association, the price of gold has decreased by approximately Rs. 10,000.
This reduction in price is said to be due to the appreciation of the Sri Lankan Rupee against the US Dollar.
As of today, the price of a 24-karat gold sovereign is Rs. 165,000, while a 22-karat sovereign costs Rs. 152,000.
