The Department of Meteorology says showers are expected in a few areas in Sri Lanka today.
Showers or thundershowers are expected at a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces during the afternoon or night.
Showers or thundershowers are also expected in the Anuradhapura, Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts during the afternoon or night.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle during the night.
Winds will be south-easterly or variable in direction and wind speed will be 20-30 kmph, while the sea areas around the island will be slight. (NewsWire)
