The Foundation of Goodness Sri Lanka has emerged as the winner of the International Cricket Academy Leage tournament hosted in Delhi.
The Foundation of Goodness Sri Lanka defeated Lakshya Indian Academy to become the international cricket academy league inaugural under 17 champions’.
Australian, South African, Dubai and Indian teams along with FOG from Sri Lanka participated to win the under 17 inaugural championship.
Put to bat first, Lakshya Indian Academy were 218 all out in 48.4 overs. They were 163 for 3 at one stage off 27 overs before the opposing spinners put the breaks.
Chasing a target of 219, the Foundation of Goodness Sri Lanka scored 221 for 03 in 46.1 overs after being 62 for 3 at one stage.
Captain Dharshaka Sandeep (Devapathiraja) contributed with 75 not out and Vice Captain Dasun Chamod (Vidyaloka) with 78 not out putting on an unbroken 159-run partnership to finish the game with 3.5 overs left.
Kevin Tyler who organised the tournament from Sydney, Australia sponsored the Foundation of Goodness team who identifies rural talent to make them excel as you can see beating Indian team in the final on their home soil. (NewsWire)
